The beginning of 2025 has been a lot —from the fires in LA to the rapid, life-changing updates from the new administration. These changes weigh heavily, particularly on immigrant communities, people of color, the LGBTQIA+ community, and anyone advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Many of us are experiencing a range of emotions and uncertainties. Some have spaces to talk about it but some may not.

At DD, our mission has always been to foster community—a place to lean on and learn from each other, especially during times of isolation and overwhelm. With that in mind, we want to provide a supportive environment for open dialogue and mutual support through this virtual gathering.

This gathering will have no formal agenda. Instead, we’ll make time for small group conversations on topics the group identifies as important and connect as a larger community. If you have resources or tools that have helped you this month, please bring them to share.

We don’t have answers, but we understand how isolating this field can feel—especially in light of external changes.

This space is intentionally created for those who identify as people of color. If there’s interest, we’ll continue offering this space in the future.
