Diversify Dietetics, Inc. ("Diversify Dietetics") is committed to protecting the privacy of our community members, supporters, volunteers, donors and other individuals with whom we do business. Diversify Dietetics values your trust and recognizes that to maintain this trust, we must be transparent and accountable to our supporters and the public at all times. This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") describes Diversify Dietetics' practices for the use, security and sharing of information collected via our website

How We Collect Information.
When you engage with Diversify Dietetics, we may gather a variety of information about you. Diversify Dietetics collects personal information about you when you:
(a) Contact us by phone, mail, or email, in person, or via our Site or social media pages;
(b) Complete a Diversify Dietetics Community survey;
(c) Register for or participate in a Diversify Dietetics program or event, including workshops, webinars, meet-ups, networking or fundraising events.
(d) Apply for and participate in the Diversify Dietetics Mentorship Program as a mentor or mentee;
(e) Purchase a Student or Professional monthly membership plan;
(f) Request information or assistance or apply for a scholarship;
(g) Volunteer for our organization;
(h) Register in the Diversify Dietetics Preceptor Database;
(i) Subscribe to a newsletter;
(j) Purchase swag or another product or service from us;
(k) Participate in Diversify Dietetics online forums, discussion boards, chat rooms or other interactive services;
(l) Make a contribution via our Site, at a special event, over the phone, or by mailing in a check; or
(m) Create a registered account on the Site.
From time to time, we may collect personal information from you in ways not described above, subject to your express approval.
Information We Collect.
In general, the type and amount of information we collect will depend on how you choose to interact with us. Diversify Dietetics may collect and maintain the following types of personal information about you that you voluntarily provide:
(a) Contact information, such as name, postal address, email, and telephone number;
(b) Demographic information, including race and ethnicity;
(c) Your resume/CV and other educational and professional information, including biography and interest areas;
(d) Business and networking information, such as academic institution, organization/company name, job title and business contact information;
(e) Social media handles;
(f) Purchase and donation information, including types and amounts of donations and credit card information;
(g) Scholarship application and eligibility information, including transcripts, academic institution and citizenship;
(h) Information on events attended and publications received;
(i) Any other information you may provide to Diversify Dietetics, such as public comments or posts on Diversify Dietetics' Site or social media pages, online forums or discussion boards.
Please note that any information you post to online public forums will become public and may be read, collected, and used by anyone. Please exercise caution when deciding whether to disclose your personal information in public forums.
At times, we may also collect non-personal information that does not personally identify you, including information that is anonymized, aggregated, or publicly available but does not identify you. We may combine non-personal information about you with non-personal from other individuals to allow us to analyze and better understand the needs of the Diversify Dietetics community and to set strategic mission priorities.
Information We Collect by Automated Means
When you visit the Diversify Dietetics Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, internal links, scrolling, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with our Site. How We Use Your Information
In general, Diversify Dietetics uses the information we collect about you to support our mission activities and operations, to directly assist you or to engage in the activity or program for which we collect it. Most commonly, we collect and use your personal information to:
(a) Establish a relationship and communicate with you about Diversify Dietetics, including our programs, special events, fundraising and opportunities and resources we believe may be of interest to you;
(b) Respond to your inquiry or request for assistance, including DICAS Application Support (DAS) Program assistance;
(c) Follow up and contact you about an opportunity, program or other area in which you have expressed an interest;
(d) Solicit feedback on and improve our programs, services, events and operations;
(e) Learn about our community and what needs, goals and priorities are important to you.
(f) Process your donation and issue acknowledgement and tax receipt;
(g) Send you newsletters, including news, job postings, resources and upcoming event details;
(h) Match mentor program participants;
(i) Process and evaluate scholarship applications;
(j) Plan future fundraising activities and events.
We may use your personal information for other legitimate business purposes, such as conducting audits, fraud monitoring and prevention, data analysis, recordkeeping, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of fundraising campaigns and mission activities, and updating and expanding our programs and offerings.
How We Share Your Information
Diversify Dietetics does not sell, rent, or lease your personal data to third parties. When we share your personal data, we do so only as described in this Privacy Policy. In furtherance of our mission, your personal information may be shared with:
(a) third-party providers and independent contractors that provide functions and operational services on our behalf such as website hosting, information technology and infrastructure, data analytics, email delivery, order fulfillment, credit card processing, auditing or other services;
(b) our volunteers who require the information to perform their duties and are bound by confidentiality agreements (including volunteer mentors and scholarship committee members);
(c) Others as you expressly consent or authorize us to do so.

We use Stripe, an industry leading payment process, to process payment card information for donations, purchases or payments made on our Site. When you make a donation or purchase via credit card, Stripe will collect information required to process your payment, including your name, credit card number, email address, billing address. In support of our mission, many of our programs and activities involve facilitating connections and networking between students, interns and professionals in the field of nutrition and dietetics. Information you provide to Diversify Dietetics through our community surveys, membership and/or program registration, may be used by Diversify Dietetics and our volunteers to match you with opportunities and individual members of the Diversify Dietetics community. We will not provide your personal information to such individuals without your consent.
If you have purchased a Student and Professional membership plan, you will be able to create a personal profile in the Diversify Dietetics Community Database. The information you choose to include in your profile will be searchable by and available to other members. You may update or delete information in your profile at any time by logging in to your membership account [link]. We may also disclose your personal information as we believe to be necessary or appropriate to comply with applicable law, which may include laws outside your country of residence; to respond to subpoenas or requests from public and government authorities, which may include authorities outside your country of residence; to cooperate with law enforcement; to investigate fraud; to enforce our Terms of Use; and/or to protect the rights, privacy, safety or property of Diversify Dietetics, our staff and volunteers, you or others.
How We Protect Your Information
Diversify Dietetics uses industry standard safeguards to protect your personal information against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of your personal information. No website or electronic data can ever by completely secure, but Diversify Dietetics works to maintain up-to-date and appropriate security mechanisms.
We restrict access to personal information collected about you to only our employees, agents, service providers and others specified in this Policy who have a need to know that information to provide services to you or to conduct our mission operations or activities as described in this Policy.
Links to Third Party Websites
Our Site contains links to other websites, including social media sites such as Facebook®, Instagram®, and others, as a convenience to you or in order to provide you additional ways in which you can share the information and resources provided on our Site. Our Site, including the Career Center, Intern Resource pages and Blog, may also include links to third party websites containing resources and information that we think may be of interest or assistance to you.
Diversify Dietetics does not guarantee the accuracy of and is not responsible for the content or information contained on any third-party sites to which we link and we do not endorse any products or services that may be offered through them. Further, we cannot control and are not responsible for the information collection, use, and disclosure practices of such sites; we encourage you to review and understand their privacy practices and policies, if any, before providing any personal data to them or using any of their services.
Do Not Track.
Some browsers have a “Do Not Track” feature that lets you tell websites that you do not want to have your online activities tracked. We do not currently respond to browser do-not-track signals at this time.
Your Rights and Required Legal Notices
From time to time, Diversify Dietetics may communicate with you by telephone, email, text or mail concerning our charitable activities, programs, events and fundraising. We respect your privacy and recognize that you may wish to limit the ways in which we contact you. To restrict these communications, you may contact Diversify Dietetics as described in the "Contact Us" section below. You may opt out of emails or newsletter subscriptions by clicking on the "unsubscribe" link in any such email. Please note, however, that we will continue to send emails to you related to your subsequent transactions with us such as donations, purchases, event registrations, requests for assistance, etc.
You can review and request changes to the personal information that Diversify Dietetics has collected about you by contacting Diversify Dietetics as described in the "Contact Us" section below. However, please be aware that Diversify Dietetics may not accommodate a change request that would impact record retention or other operational requirements like remembering email opt-out preferences, violate any law or legal requirement, or cause the information to be incorrect. Deleting your personal information may also require deleting your user account (if any).
For Residents Outside the United States
If you are a European resident, you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise any of your rights under the GDPR, please contact us as described in the "Contact Us" section below. Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill obligations we might have with you (for example to process a donation, purchase or to fulfill a request for assistance), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above.
Diversify Dietetics is located, and our Site is published, in the United Sates and are subject to its laws. If you are located in a country outside of the United States and voluntarily submit personal information to us, you consent to the general use of such information as provided by this Policy and to the transfer of that information and the storage of that information within the United States.
Children
The Diversify Dietetics Site is not intended for children under 13 years of age and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and become aware that your child has provided us information without your consent, please contact us as described in the "Contact Us" section below to request that we delete such information from our files within a reasonable amount of time from your request.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Policy is current as of the date stated at the top of this Policy. Diversify Dietetics reserves the right to make changes to this Policy from time to time. Diversify Dietetics will notify you of any material changes to the Policy through a notice on the Site home page. You are responsible for periodically visiting our Site and this Policy to check for any changes.
