Join us as the Client Services Section Manager (WMS2) within the Office of Nutrition Services (ONS). This role is crucial in enhancing the health of communities through our nutritional services and support programs.

Responsibilities Highlights:

  • Oversee the Client Services Section, managing a team dedicated to delivering high-quality WIC program services.

  • Ensure that local WIC operations comply with federal and state regulations through effective policy development, training, and technical assistance.

  • Lead initiatives to apply best practices in health education, nutrition, and breast/chest/body feeding.

  • Maintain robust communication with local agencies providing WIC services.

  • Analyze trends to guide local agency caseloads and funding allocations.

  • Coordinate WIC outreach efforts.

  • Oversee compliance with WIC food and formula standards.

  • Collaborate to enhance the overall effectiveness of ONS services.

  • Plan and manage a substantial annual budget, aligning resources with priorities and monitoring program effectiveness and quality.

 

Key Aspects:

  • Act as the federally mandated WIC Nutrition Coordinator, integrating cutting-edge nutrition science into WIC services.

  • Promote health equity through continuous process improvement and ensuring accessibility of services to all eligible participants.

  • Develop and maintain strong strategic partnerships, both internally and externally, to amplify the impact of ONS programs.

  • Ensure adherence to federal and state requirements, maintaining high standards for nutrition services in local WIC agencies.

  • Provide expert leadership to the state WIC office, and advice to the ONS Director on all aspects of ONS programs.

  • Develop and maintain effective relationship with program federal funder.
