Job Description
POSITION: Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Nutritional Sciences (95% Teaching and 5% Service), full-time, 9-month academic year appointment in the Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences https://www.fcs.uga.edu.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Teach undergraduate and graduate in-residence and online courses in sports nutrition, clinical nutrition and community nutrition.
• Mentor students enrolled in the Sports Nutrition Emphasis area in the Nutritional Sciences Graduate Program, and oversee the Nutrition Physical Activity, Exercise and Sport Internship program.
• Contribute to activities that serve the department, college, university, the public, and the profession.
QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor, the applicant must hold an earned doctoral degree (upon appointment) in nutrition or a related field. It is preferred that the applicant be credentialed as a registered dietitian nutritionist by the Commission on Dietetics; have at least two years at the rank of clinical instructor and/or comparable training and/or post-graduate experience in area of nutritional sciences; and have two years of experience with effective online pedagogy and best practices in teaching and learning. To be considered for the position of Clinical Associate Professor, the applicant must meet the above qualifications and have at least five years at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. For initial appointment to the Clinical Associate Professor rank, comparable training, background, and experience may be considered.
