Role Description

The Department of Nutrition in the Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions at Georgia State University is seeking applications for one or more 9-month non-tenure track Clinical Instructor positions to begin in the Department of Nutrition in Fall 2025. The appointment spans from August to May, with the potential for optional paid work opportunities available during June and July. Primary responsibilities include clinical and didactic instruction. Other expected duties include participating in scholarly activities and engaging in academic and/or professional service.


Required Education

  • Master’s degree or higher in Nutrition or a related field at the time of appointment


Required Experience

  • At least one year of experience working in acute care or critical care

  • At least three years of experience as a registered dietitian post-credentialing with the ability to be licensed in Georgia


Preferred Experience

  • Five or more years of experience as a clinical dietitian working in the acute care and/or critical care settings

  • Experience teaching Nutrition-related courses at the college-level and/or serving as a dietetic preceptor


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in teaching through various instructional methods

  • Ability to foster an inclusive environment and support diverse student populations in both in-person and virtual settings

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and technological skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records

  • Demonstrated expertise in instructional technology

  • Collaborative skills to support departmental and institutional goals
