The Department of Nutritional Sciences seeks applications for a professional-track (non-tenured) faculty position (Assistant Professor of Instruction) to begin in the  2024-2025 academic year.

The Department of Nutritional Sciences offers a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition degree program which includes three primary areas: dietetics, nutritional sciences, and public health nutrition. All options combine a prescribed common core of science and nutrition courses with additional coursework in the area of specialization. The dietetics programs include both a Didactic Program in Dietetics and an Integrated Coordinated Program in Dietetics. The M.S. in Nutritional Sciences focuses on nutrient function and the role of nutrients in pathophysiology, including cancer, diabetes, and obesity. The program is designed to provide knowledge of advanced applications in nutritional science.

Teaching responsibilities for this position would include courses in food systems management and food science, as well other nutrition courses within the department.  The position would also include providing departmental service (e.g., curriculum development, committees, outreach, and/or student advising). Course assignments may vary depending on departmental needs.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a master or doctoral degree in Nutritional Sciences or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education, along with the Registered Dietitian credential and relevant professional and teaching/mentoring experience. Candidates should provide evidence of instructional excellence; industry experience is also desirable.
