Nutrition Training Specialist - Colorado Department of Education (Denver Metro, CO)

Job Description
Join our team as a child nutrition training specialist where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of child nutrition programs across the state. This position is ideal for a passionate professional dedicated to supporting the growth and development of food service professionals in the field.
Key responsibilities

Program Oversight & Expertise:
-Provide expert guidance and management for professional standards in child nutrition programs, ensuring new directors are effectively onboarded and supported.
-Leadership in Communication & Outreach:
-Lead the unit’s communication and outreach initiatives, promoting awareness and engagement with our programs.
-Assists with the unit's e-newsletter and coordinates outreach efforts with the CDE communications team.
Strategic Training Implementation:
-Support the execution of the unit’s strategic training plan, including precepting interns, collaborating with the state’s advisory council for school nutrition and supporting new employee onboarding. Oversees implementation of the unit’s caseload model and provides professional development for the internal team.
Training & Technical Assistance:
-Deliver comprehensive training and technical assistance to child nutrition program sponsors statewide, driving program improvement, innovation and compliance with federal and state regulations.
-Collaboratively develops effective presentations for conferences, workshops and meetings on various topics related to child nutrition programs and initiatives.
Program Monitoring & Reviews:
-Conducts accurate administrative reviews of child nutrition programs across the state, including pre-approval visits and vendor reviews to ensure compliance with federal and state rules and regulations.

Travel is required approximately 25% and varies throughout the year. Most travel is within Colorado for site visits, reviews or training. Occasional travel out of state for conferences.
