Position Title: Affiliate Faculty, Supervised Practice Coordinator, Clinical Dietetics Coordinated Graduate Program and Applied Food and Nutrition Program; Full-time, 12-month/36 credit renewable contract to begin August 6, 2024; College of Health Professions. School of Interdisciplinary Health
Summary: Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in Grand Rapids, Michigan is currently accepting applications for one full-time Affiliate faculty position, in the School of Interdisciplinary Health, Clinical Dietetics Coordinated Graduate Program, and Applied Food and Nutrition Program. The department is housed in Raleigh J. Finkelstein Hall, a state-of-the-art facility in Grand Rapids, MI.
Required Qualifications and Education:
• A graduate degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health, healthcare, or related field. Applicant must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and have at least 3 years of clinical experience by the time of application submission.
• Expertise in ACEND Accreditation Standards and Core Competencies for supervised practice
• Experience with clinical coordination and health compliance.
• Proficiency in establishing community partner collaboration events, Interprofessional Education (IPE) events, simulation-based education, and standardized patient (SP) events/lab experiences.
• Demonstrated food service and culinary lab expertise that includes standards of practice, policies, safety, and partnerships with simulation and hospitality management departments.
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
• Course development and teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate level
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Area of expertise that complements current faculty such as research, clinical, community, and food service management
• Experience in or demonstrated understanding of social justice education and/or initiatives, and/or inclusion, diversity, and/or intercultural training.
Responsibilities – Essential Functions:
• The successful applicant must demonstrate commitment to high quality classroom and clinical instruction, site placement, and site development.
The selected candidate will:
• Develop and teach courses, including instruction in both classroom and laboratory settings, and schedule and coordinate students’ supervised practice sites within the Clinical Dietetics Coordinated Graduate Program and practicum sites for the Applied Food and Nutrition Program.
• Create and maintain preceptor and supervised practice site relationships, conduct tracking of hours and assessment of required program competencies, and program policies.
• Administrator for student tracking system, competencies and hours
• Lead for continuing education preceptor events.
• Lead for student mental health programming.
• Manage Contract Logix for Affiliation Agreements with department representatives.
• Attend program open houses, program information sessions, student interviews, and student recruitment activities.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
